Every Wednesday, 8-9pm EST, Radyo Pinoy will host an especially entertaining radio program called 'Showbiz ang Dating'. Artista magazine's chief editor Luis Pagdagdagan hosts the program together with his co-host Nori Melgarejo. The show's mix of Filipino entertainment news, answer-by-phone trivias, and a playlist of the hottest most current OPM (Original Pilipino Music) selection will certainly be more than enough to whet any pinoy music buff's appetite. A particularly interesting aspect of the show involves a segment when they exclusively play songs by independent pinoy musicians in Toronto or as Mr. Pagdagdagan calls it 'OPMC' (Original Pilipino Music in Canada). They would like to encourage all independent pinoy musicians of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to take advantage and participate in this original and innovative radio programming virtue of our friend Mr. Pagdagdagan. There may also be a chance to broadcast live in-studio performances of OPMC talents in the future.

The program 'Showbiz ang Dating' broadcasted for the first time on Friday, October 7, 2005. The show went through without a hitch and featured a very well received answer-by-phone trivia contest as well as having showcased their first OPMC talent careof RiR's 'the iDentity Crisis'. A sampling of iDC's ecclectic music compositions featured the tabla-rhythms of '35' to which the program's tehcnical engineer Alex Sambas' reaction was '..ang galing noon ah' (that was amazing!). Future broadcasts will almost certainly include an RiR talent to be played or playing live in the studio at the radio program. Even though it was their 'maiden' broadcast the program showed lots of promise thanks to its never-before-attempted-by-a-multicultural-radio-station indie segment its audience population will only go up. Online folks could also tune-in to the broadcast online on Radyo Pinoy's website at www.radyopinoy.net. Tune in regularly to Radyo Pinoy's 'Showbiz ang Dating' as you just wouldn't know what RiR talent will be playing in the airwaves.

For interested OPMC talents who wish to be played on-air please submit a cd of your demo and a brief biography either by email to phil@radioinsectrecords.com or by mail at:
