 | RiR Newsletter::February 2005
A MESSAGE FROM OUR HIVE TO YOURS Ok .. so we haven't really been all too prompt in providing you with the latest RiR updates since October 2004. It started out as a plan for us to at least adhere to a monthly newsletter release schedule which is now losing its novelty. From now on, RiR will only release a newsletter at a time when enough news tidbits have been gathered to justify a newsletter release. We are also in the lookout for aspiring music article/news/reviews contributors online. Please submit samples of what you have written to phil@radioinsectrecords.com. Successful candidates will have their writeups included here at the RiR site.
WHAT THE HECK'S BEEN GOIN' ON???
FNA Developments What's been happnin' with FNA you say ? ... Well, there's this thing called a 'recording contract' which really takes a while to resolve before it gets to satisfy both parties. Party outfits such as lawyers and band managers are the one's involved here and are really the cornerstone in the approval process. Once all is settled then and only then could FNA proceed and record with RiR. The progress has been slight but nevertheless progressing. So until the contract gets approved we could not yet proceed with recording FNA. RiR's crew are busy getting this thing resolved promptly.
Benny and the Gents Let us introduce you to the newest band to enter our hive. A trio of musicians who call themselves 'The Last True Gentlemen' (LTG) is currently recording at RiR Studios. LTG are:
Andrew Clark - guitars/keys/vox Chris Dawe - Bass/vox Mark Ansara - Drums
Their music could be best described as a mixture of old-school style (Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Chicago) and new rock elements (Cold Play, Ben Folds Five). LTG is planning to release a 4-song sampler album on March 11, 2005 on their gig at Club 279. You can visit LTG's website at www.thelasttruegentlemen.com. Watch out for the 'The Last True Gentlemen'!
Vultocazhe Recording - In Session Recording of Vultocazhe still continues in the hive. It has been a very long process since we first commenced recording last year. A combination of scheduling conflicts, priority shifts, and RiR's ongoing studio upgrades have all contributed to the delay. One important tidbit that Vultocazhe would like to disclose is that they are in the process of integrating a dj/turntablist to the band. Further details on the new member will follow. It would certainly be interesting to see how it would complement their sound as a whole. Please stay tuned for further Vulto developments.
Farah Farah's recording is currently on a temporary hiatus. Recent interests of involving additional members are underway and should be done in the not too distant future. As soon as Farah's new crew is settled, recording should commence thereafter. Stay tuned !.
Mistakes For Souvenirs (MFS) MFS is scheduled to record at RiR Studios for at least 3 songs starting March 2005.
