Biography: THIS is a four-piece rock group from Toronto, Canada. The multi-genre defying band will rock you with the heaviest riffs, but also take you by surprise with the rawness of their softer tunes. They will entertain you with their infinite array of songs and subject matter, from drinking urinade, to breaking curses, to harmless chatter that just simply don’t matter. This is the brainchild of lead singer/songwriter Paul Godfrey. Having assembled for a talent show in the summer of ’02, the foundations of This were laid down. Since their initial start as ONSET, the band has kept its founding members while losing their bass player in December 2004. The continuing lineup remains, Paul Godfrey (vocals, guitars), Ian De Villa (vocals, guitars), Chino De Villa (drums, master of the cow bell), and at last (but certainly not least), the newest member of This is Darryl Hogan (bass guitarist from Paul Godfrey’s old band GLIB (1994 - 2002). In recent months, the band has focused on completing the recording their debut album “AGO 3A0” at Wanted Productions. The title of the album is the guitar course code at St. Patrick’s C.S.S., the high school where the band first got a chance to jam together.
In 2005 the band will hit the road performing in venues all over Southern Ontario starting in March at Fanshawe College in London. This also has a spot on “The New York International Music Festival”, which will take place in April. Currently, This is preparing for a summer tour. Keep your eyes out for (this.), have a listen and thank you for your ears!
