Chivalry are: Mark Anthony Sison -- lead vocals Jayson Soliven -- lead guitar Christian Dela Cruz-- rhythm guitar Rej Amado-- bass guitar Carlos Rivero -- drums
Biography: Chivalry started out as a 'just for fun' band. We weren't serious yet until we had the 'real members'. Before, the band consisted of Jayson on vocals and lead guitar, Jobert on bass, Christian on rhythm guitar and Carlos on drums. Then, we decided to replace Jobert with Rey, because he couldn't handle rehearsals anymore (he's still our friend though). Rey fitted well with the band. With the help of Jobert, Mark tried out with the band. We placed him on vocals since we just want the band to have one person in each position. We were then called 'Chivalry'. 'Chivalry' is the band's name because we wanted to have a simple name that has a great impact (especially to the girls!). Chivalry means a group of men or knights, who protects and respects female humanity (see what we mean!). We didn't expect that we would pursue the band seriously, 'till we played at the 1998 Philippine Independence Day Centennial Celebration in Skydome (Toronto, Canada). It was a great opportunity to play in that kind of a crowd. About 10,000 people were watching and we wanted to give them a show and the entertainment that they deserve, even though we're really nervous about it. And we did! When we sang the song Prinsesa by 'Teeth', we saw the crowd in front, singing with us. After that event we decided to continue on with the band cause we know that we have something worth pursuing (hmm!). We got invitated to play at various parties after that event and lucky enough, we also got invited to be included in Radio Insect Records' (RiR) cd compilation (Timog Kuwarentay Kuwatro) (thanks to Phil Mark and Elena Nanez). And here we are with a brand new "never heard" song, putting all our creativity through it, so that you guys could enjoy the dough that you've spent on us. From rock to rap, from mellow to grunge, everything is in it! We just hope that our songs will make a hit someday (like it will!). We are also planning to make our own album in the future. With the help of RiR, we hope that it will happen. But until then, let's enjoy 'Timog Kuwarentay Kuwatro'. So to all of the RiR supporters, thank you very much and hopefully you enjoyed our music.
Peace, Love and CHIVALRY ...
